Job Summary:
A leading vineyard operation in the California Central Valley is seeking a highly capable Farm Manager to oversee daily field operations across multiple ranches. This full-time leadership role includes managing large seasonal labor teams, coordinating crop care and harvest, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with internal logistics, sales, and maintenance teams.
The ideal candidate has deep Central Valley viticulture experience, strong crew supervision skills, and an in-depth understanding of vineyard management, compliance, and scheduling across thousands of acres.

Job Summary:

This full-time leadership role includes managing large seasonal labor teams, coordinating crop care and harvest, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with internal logistics, sales, and maintenance teams.
The ideal candidate has deep Central Valley viticulture experience, strong crew supervision skills, and an in-depth understanding of vineyard management, compliance, and scheduling across thousands of acres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise 10–12 foremen and oversee 100–400 seasonal/permanent field workers
- Allocate labor resources efficiently across multiple ranches
- Enforce safety and productivity standards; train and mentor team leaders
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, H-2A, and state labor laws
- Develop and manage schedules for pruning, trellising, pest management, harvest, etc.
- Coordinate with logistics and equipment teams to ensure field readiness
- Prioritize tasks based on crop stage, vine health, and harvest readiness
- Implement cultural practices for raisins and wine grapes
- Collaborate with PCAs for pest control and compliance with DPR guidelines
- Oversee safe pesticide use and ensure FSMA documentation standards
- Maintain good standing with Water Districts and apply smart irrigation strategies
- Manage multi-ranch operations in Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties
- Track and record property activities using GPS and vineyard software
- Direct manual and mechanical harvest activities
- Manage DOV (Dry-on-Vine) and tray-dried raisin operations
- Coordinate packinghouse delivery, QA, and yield tracking
- Oversee labor and equipment scheduling during harvest windows
- Assist in preparing budgets for labor, equipment, and crop inputs
- Track field activities, labor hours, chemical usage, and equipment data
- Report progress and provide input for operational improvements
- Ensure adherence to FSMA, Cal/OSHA, Ag Order 4.0 regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections
- Oversee worker hygiene, traceability, and safety training
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Viticulture, Agribusiness, or related field
- 7+ years of experience managing vineyard or grape production in the Central Valley
- Strong leadership managing large labor teams and multiple foremen
- Knowledge of raisin drying methods, wine grape care, and crop scheduling
- Proficiency with agricultural software (Workyard, FieldClock, etc.)
- Familiar with FSMA, Ag Order 4.0, and Cal/OSHA compliance requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Valid CA Driver’s License with clean DMV record
- QAL license or PCA collaboration experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Outdoor work in varied conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
- Ability to walk vineyards and conduct in-field inspections
- Extended hours, evenings, and weekends required during peak seasons
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary: $80,000/year
- Bonus potential up to $120,000/year based on yield, budget, team leadership, and performance KPIs
