Position: Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Mechanic
City: Tracy, CA
Shift: Multiple Shifts Available
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanic with PLC experience (Allen Bradley preferred) and a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical production equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery in a cold food production environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and experienced working in manufacturing or industrial maintenance settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Work with Allen Bradley PLC systems for troubleshooting and maintenance
• Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams
• Inspect equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Replace motors, sensors, belts, bearings, and other machine components
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
• Follow all food safety, GMP, and company safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills and Qualifications:
• Previous maintenance mechanic experience in manufacturing or food production required
• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of industrial production equipment and automated systems
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems preferred
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in a cold environment (35–45°F)
• Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment
• Must follow PPE and safety requirements at all times
