This is a floor-focused leadership role for someone who can lead the receiving team, coordinate inbound activity, troubleshoot receiving issues, and jump in alongside the team when needed. The ideal candidate understands high-volume distribution operations and can balance people leadership with accurate receiving and inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, motivate, and provide daily direction to Receiving associates.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries and carrier appointments.
- Oversee unloading, receiving, staging, and movement of incoming merchandise.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing lists and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure receiving transactions and documentation are accurately completed in the WMS/ERP system.
- Monitor employee productivity, workflow, staffing, and daily priorities.
- Maintain accurate receiving logs, reports, schedules, and records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and reinforce company safety procedures.
- Work directly on the warehouse floor and provide hands-on support when operationally needed.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of distribution/warehouse experience, with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong receiving/inbound operations experience.
- Experience working with WMS/ERP systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of purchase orders, packing lists, shipment verification, and receiving discrepancies.
- Comfortable leading employees in a fast-paced distribution center.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
